Research Requirements:
Submission of one article to The Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery (JFAS); submission of two poster presentations to the ACFAS Annual Scientific Conference.
Program Summary/Training Goals:
- Surgically, the fellow will build on their training with participation in complete foot and ankle trauma, hindfoot reconstruction, forefoot reconstruction and a variety of elective and non-elective cases with DPM and MD attendings associated with large private practice orthopaedic groups (400-600 cases / year).
- Clinically, the fellow will participate in the conservative treatment of common conditions, pre-operative and post-operative management of patients, common billing practices and clinical operations to build on their current skills and learn how to run a successful practice.
- Educationally, the fellow will participate in monthly journal clubs, monthly case presentations and regional meetings.
- The fellow will also be involved in developing publishable research.
